Sooooo I have been doing some thinking and I think I would like from time to time to begin to review makeup that I buy. I am after all a makeup artist and makeup makes me pretty happy. Several friends have asked for me to do more beauty blogging and while I don’t have any interest in doing makeup videos or LOTS of reviews, I am down to talk about makeup that I like.
My first makeup review will be on the amazing NYX Cosmetics Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks
Now anyone who reads this blog knows I am a BIG NYX Cosmetics makeup fan. Their lip products are unreal for only being 5-7$.
When I saw these lipsticks on the NYX instagram I knew if I liked the formula I would buying quite a few. Thankfully the matte formula is on point. It is truly matte but not overly drying like some. I really like that it applies like a gloss but then dries to a matte, I feel like it allows you to really keep things looking clean.
“Doll up your lips in plush and vibrant color! NYX Cosmetics’ Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick glides on and sets into a striking matte finish. Velvety soft and waterproof, this long-lasting lippie creates a positively polished look with every swipe.“
I will say that they are not 12 hour lipsticks and Im not so sure they are SUPER waterproof. I wore some to dinner tonight (YAY authentic Mexican food) and the middle of my lips had definitely faded and some was wore off on the top of my mexican coke. However I purchased them knowing that they were not a long wear product.
The colors they offer are amazing and every one that I own is beautiful and vibrant. So far I have:
Kitten Heels – a really beautiful true red
Pink Lust- a LOUD hot pink
Sway – a bright lilac
Foul Mouth- a lovely navy blue
Overall I would say Sway is by far my favorite. It’s such a fun beautiful color and unlike any lipstick I have ever owned. I am in looooove!
Here’s some photos of each lip.
**I am still learning about photographing makeup so I apologize in advance about my photos! I have found that makeup can look SO different in the mirror vs your phone camera vs your real camera.I know these photos aren’t the best, I am still learning what light is best for makeup photos. I bow down to you Linda Halberg a thousand times, one day my photos (and makeup) will look that bomb.com!
This was a simple look I quickly threw together for a date night with Sean. This is Sway paired with a gold/bronze eye and some strobing and LOTS of bronzer.
My second favorite would be Foul Mouth. Its a lovely navy blue.
